Privacy Policy

Ember ("Ember", "we", "us") is a personalized mobile browser built for audio and video. This Privacy Policy explains what information is involved when you use the app and how it is handled. We designed Ember to keep your data on your device wherever possible.

1. No Account, No Sign-Up

Ember does not require you to create an account or provide your name, email, or phone number to use the app. We do not maintain user profiles on our servers.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

The following is created and stored locally on your device only, and is not uploaded to us:

• Browsing history, bookmarks, and tags you create in the app
• Any content you keep in the app for later viewing
• App preferences (such as theme and language)

This data stays in the app's storage and is removed when you delete the app.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

Ember shows ads through Google AdMob to support the free tier. To serve and measure ads, AdMob and its partners may collect and process information such as device identifiers (including the advertising identifier), IP address, coarse location, and interaction data. This processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

On first launch, Ember uses Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt to ask for your permission before any tracking. If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized using your advertising identifier. We also use Apple's SKAdNetwork for privacy-preserving ad attribution.

4. Subscriptions

Optional Premium subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). Apple handles your payment; we do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple provides us with your subscription status so the app can unlock Premium features.

5. Network Requests

When you browse, the app connects to the websites you visit. The app also fetches remote configuration and playback resources needed to function; these requests include only technical information such as the app version and are not tied to your identity.

6. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell your personal information. We do not receive your browsing history or saved content — it never leaves your device through us.

7. Your Choices

• Manage ad tracking anytime under iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
• Reset or limit your advertising identifier in iOS Settings.
• Delete all locally stored data by uninstalling the app.

8. Children

Ember is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
